Brazos Valley Soaps began in Brazos County, in the Brazos Valley, but is now located in Palestine, Texas. Founded by Rachel Mozingo McDermott in July of 2016, BVS’s goal is to help you to Nourish Your Skin, and love the skin you’re in!

Rachel founded BVS while attending Texas A&M University to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology. She loves the science and creativity involved in soapmaking, and quickly decided that soapmaking was what she wanted to do “for life.”

Rachel strives to bring joy and relaxation to your bath routine through our soaps, bath bombs, lotions, scrubs, lip balms, shampoo & conditioner bars, and other bath products. Each item handcrafted and made with luxurious, nourishing ingredients. The bars are made using natural oils, fragrances or natural essential oils, and sodium hydroxide (lye). The lye turns the oils into soap, and is not present in the finished bar of soap. The curing process takes roughly 4 weeks to 6 MONTHS (depending on the oils used) before they are ready to be sold.
